Born 1956 and raised in Oslo, Jesper Halle studied Nordic languages at the University of Oslo, and philosophy and literature at the University of Tromsø. He won the coveted Norwegian Ibsen Prize, and was nominated for the Nordic Prize for Outstanding Dramatist in 1997.
